Wastewaters from slaughterhouses and frozen food processors typically contain appreciable concentrations of organic matters and moderate levels of oils, fats and protein (blood). Suspended solids would also normally beat moderate levels as would sulphates, which would also inhibit efficient granulation of the anaerobic sludge. The most effective and economic treatment for these industries would typically be anaerobic reactors such as: BIOTECS AnUp↑-C-Series, or BIOTECS AnUp↑-MBR, combined with an efficient pre-treatment.
