Biotecs

BIOTECS is an engineering company which develops, contracts and supplies Intelligent Technological Solutions (ITS's) on a turnkey basis using Its own highly advanced technologies to treat and reuse water, wastewater and biogas.

It was founded in 1998 by the Engineer A. Gilberto Salerno and the microbiologist A. Carlos de Castro, to take over the original business established in 1993 and to expand technically and commercially throughout Brazil and overseas. In 1998, Biotecs also established its Colombian subsidiary BIOTECS-LATAM.

From its headquarters in Ribeirão Preto, southeast of Brazil, the company is ready to serve clients in all corners of the world with bespoke solutions which are designed to meet their specific needs and operational requirements.

More than 30 years ago, BIOTECS specialists were pioneers in Brazil in the research and development of anaerobic wastewater treatment technologies based upon the highest European standards.

From the middle of the 1980s, having developed and established a series of pilot plants to treat vinasse and produce biogas as a renewable source of energy, anaerobic technologies began to spread across the world providing us with the opportunity to develop our first applications to treat industrial wastewater for the citrus, dairy and soft drinks industries, having Cola's as ones of our first clients.

From the 1990s, we began to develop an intelligent combination of biological processes combining anaerobic and aerobic systems to create efficient, secure, reliable and economic plants which have been used with great success in the treatment of wastewaters especially from the food and beverage industries.

In the past decade, we have supplied new anaerobic technologies designed for the production and reuse of biogas in distilleries, high volumetric load reactors and membrane bioreactors (MBR) for the beverage industry, as well as sewage treatment systems.

To summarise, over this period new and efficient technologies were developed and added to the wide portfolio of BIOTECS systems allowing us to offer the very best technological solutions capable of reducing the environmental impact of wastewaters and biogas and meeting the most siringent government regulations while serving the needs of our customers and the demands of a fast-changing industry.
