Wastewater from automobile industries can present quite a wide range of volumes and concentrations of C0D and B0D5, since these are highly dependent upon the origin of the different flows, as well as the overall production capacity.
However in general, they present high levels of total and suspended solids, together with high levels of oils and greases, nitrogen and paint material, as well as relatively low levels of phosphorus and sulphates.
Typically, these wastewaters (either with or without a mixture of industrial sewage) can be treated with a pre-treatment, followed by efficient aerobic or anaerobic processes.
